New year, new dreams

My dearest readers/ followers/ occasion visitors,

First of all I wish you a successful New year filled with love, opportunities & dreams that finally come true. I celebrated the New Year very low key and it did me some good. I was not the only one…Apparently a lot of people did not want to make it a big deal since it’s an every year returning event for the rest of our lives.

Last year was kind of a bumpy ride, with a few highs and a bit more lows. But lucky me, I can start all over again! I planned a few fun thing and while I am writing this post I am actually packing for my first trip of the year, Paris!IMG_1590

My beloved Paris, I need to be sweped off my feet again! I want this year to be the year that I am really making a difference in my life! Sometimes I need a kick under my ass (It’s a Belgian expression: for I need someone to push me/or I need to push myself) because sit and wait for it does not work in the real world.IMG_1585

If you are kind on the same the same boat, we can motivate each other to get where we want to be.  A few tips already: start to work out ( it can be any thing, as long as you enjoy it) , try to eat healthy more often and take time for yourself. It might al seem easy but it take courage to keep it going for longer than a week! It is better to make small changes than to go in overdrive!IMG_1583

But enough with my whining, I need to pack my Bags for Maison & Objet and Paris fashion week! I wish you a nice weekend and see you in Paris!

Love,

Christmas gift: Costa Rica Favourites

My sweetest followers and visitors,

First of all, Merry Christmas to you and your family! Let this be a day filled with love and time for each other. Because you have been so patient, my Christmas gift to you: Costa Rica blog post! I hope you ‘ll enjoy it and share it with your friends and family, because sharing is caring!

I cannot believe my first over the ocean holiday is already a beautiful memory. The Pura Vida lifestyle caught me under his spell and mesmerised me in every place I have visited. It is hard to choose my favourites because I think every memory I have made is special in one way or another, but I am going to try anyway.

Cahuita (9)

My first favourite was the National park in Cahuita because it is next to the beautiful Caribbean beach and you see a lot of amazing animals for real. We saw raccoons, capuchin monkeys, snakes, sloths, termite’s nests, basilica, Oropendola’s (birds with a golden tail), Toucans, which is my favourite bird. We saw two types: Kill bill and Choco toucan; you can imagine I was beyond excited to see them both. If you think, “Wow, she knows a lot “ No we just had an awesome guide who helped us finding animals. The fact that the beautiful beach peaked in from time to time, made heaven on earth.

My stay was the Cariblue jungle & beach resort in Puerto Viejo. I adored this place because of the hammocks and the room with sliding doors; where you could relax while looking at the animals. The hotel is in front of the beach and not far from the cosy village, where you can feel the Caribbean atmosphere.

I always found boat trips relaxing and the next village is only accessible by boat. Tortuguero is a village at the amazing river/lagoon Penitencia and there I stayed in the best lodge in town.

The Evergreen lodge is a rainforest heaven where your room in the middle of the rainforest. The first thing you hear and smell is pure nature and it makes you totally relaxed. Two things I strongly recommend are a kayak trip on the river and in the rainforest (which is for free in this lodge) and a night excursion on the beach to see the turtles. I did not expect to do this kind of excursion but they were both magical. On the turtle excursion there are no camera’s allowed to you have to believe me on my word, that this is a once in a lifetime experience.

The third and last favourite: Frogs heaven, really stole my heart.  José, a passionate man guided us proudly in his “wild” garden. We saw tree of the cutest frogs and they were the best models in the world. We also saw a snake, learned about plants and saw some beautiful birds. An amazing experience! José is great guide and an awesome photographer. He will make sure you leave with the perfect photo. Also if you visit this project you support the local kids educationprogram!!

If you want a dream stay, the Sarapiquis rainforest lodge is certainly the place to be. The infinity pool is pure heaven and the rooms have an amazing Hispanic colonial and indigenous atmosphere.

I could talk hours and hours about this amazing experience, but if you’re planning a trip to Costa Rica in the near future, these are places that won’t disappoint you. But the most important rule when you want the Pura Vida way of life is wherever you go, go with all your heart.

Motivation gone/back?!

I honestly cannot blame you guys for not visiting my blog; it has been a year without many blogposts. After a long silence, I gave you some hope for the last few months of 2017, and yet I let you down again.

I had an awesome holiday at Costa Rica and was super exited to tell you all about it.   I even got contacted by a travel inspired website to do a collaboration on my adventures… super excited! I finished the post and everything and then there was silence… One day ago I got the sad message the collab will not be happening at least not in 2017.

Because I wanted to start from that particular post on that website to do a whole series of stories/tips and tricks “how to travel in style with a passion for nature”, my blog stayed empty. Now that the plans are changed I like to share the post that I made for this website. I will put it online on the 25/12 as a Christmas gift to you wonderful people around the world, who are to kind to still visit

I want to wish you all a lovely Christmas with lot’s of love, warmth and cosiness with family and friends.

Love,

MO.RE

Adventures to come, future to plan

While I am still trying to shape my amazing Costa Rica adventure in a blog post, I already worked on a plan to create my future. In between trying to get out of the jet lag phenomena, working out, learning Spanish, I have followed a much-needed Instagram workshop. And boy oh boy did we learn! My brain and I are still under the impression of the passionate Frances from My Life In Colors. I have thons of respect for people like that! So, if you are curious about my Instagram, I would not mind if you took a sneak peak @mellowantsmore and if you like coloured outfits @mylifeincolors_ is the prefect match for you.

In the mean time I am working on post for be the adventure, an online retailer of travel apparel and gear who focusses on sharing travel stories with their community.  They asked me to write something for them about my Pura Vida adventure. When I got this message on Instagram during my stay in Costa Rica I was beyond honoured that they asked me. So I have made a selection of places where I stayed and made some beautiful memories. I already want to thank them for asking me.  So I will keep you posted about when it will appear online.

Pura Vida!

Pura Vida

I underestimated the power of Costa Rica and blogging at the same time. Living the Pura vida life is quite intense. I came here on Saturday after two good organised flights by Iberia and I have been spoiled ever since.IMG_2523

The beauty of this middle American country is in it’s diversity of nature and the people; so if you like one of these two things, Costa Rica should be your next destination. Some of you might be thinking that you need to wear some unfashionable Indiana jones outfits, but there is always an other way. I am doing this trip with a little sense of fashion, but off course in a comfy way.

IMG_2359IMG_2454For those of you who are curious but not sure of there Indiana jones level, I strongly recommend  doing this trip by a tour operator like neckermann. Or similar. Why? It is adventure with the C of comfort.

If you still need to be convicted or just want some tips and tricks how to do Pura Vida with a little bit of style, I will share the besties and misties (mistakes) for an inspiring, adventurous holiday.I am not sure when because I am under the Pura Vida spell.IMG_2470XO

MELLOWANTSMO.RE On holiday

Up until now, it has been a year full of challenges. Working hard, workouts at the gym but most of all overthinking life and where I stand at this moment. We often get challenged by life itself, but most of all by ourselves. I worked hard to get my mind and body on the same page and now it is time to take a step in the unknown. Curious yet?

As I am starting to write this post I am high up in the sky on my first long distance flight in my life. My family, friends and colleagues already know my destination and it goes by the name Costa Rica.

Why Costa Rica? It is as simple as uno, dos, tres… it is one of the happiest countries in the world. Before I knew that, I picked out this destination for his wonderful nature.
I am solo on the plane, but within tree hours I am meeting a bunch of Belgian travellers.

I will share my first across the ocean experience as much as I can. So I hope to see you soon at the other side of the world on MELLOWANTSMO.RE.

8 months of silence on MWM

I think I started typing this blogpost at least ten times, but It never appeared online. I guess I was just searching for the right words at the right time. I gave up blogging for a while for different reasons: first I was to busy at work, then I started working out in the gym after work, a lot of dinner formations  and after a few months I got too scared because I let you down for such a long time.

I guess every blogger has that time where they doubted themselves or takes a little break to review their blog; My break took me quite a while. My final conclusion is that it is still my passion to share with you my passions for Interior design, travel & fashion; but it will take time to get back into my blog routine. So have a little bit of patience for me.

When you loose track of yourself, it is hard to be a good person for those who are precious to you and to work on your own luck, so I took some time to work on myself and did a health check and I feel much better now. What I want to share with you is that you need to work on your inner and outer self from time to time and do not be scared to ask for (professional) help, when you feel you cannot get there alone.

I want to end this post with a positive vibe; by the end next week I will be at the other side of the world. I am going to Costa Rica!!!!! So I hope to spoil you with stories from the happiest country in the world!!!
